AzEIP supports children birth to 3 who are showing signs of developmental delay. We provide these services as a member of Arizona Cooperative Therapies, the agency that holds the AzEIP contract for our region. Care happens in your home, in the routines your child already knows, and for qualifying families the program is at no cost.
- Speech therapy for early communication and feeding
- Occupational therapy for sensory, motor, and self-regulation
- Physical therapy for gross motor and mobility
- Coaching built around your real daily routines
Early intervention in our region is delivered by Arizona Cooperative Therapies, a group of agencies that together hold the AzEIP contract. Arizona Speech Pathology is one of them, so working with the co-op often means working with our therapists.
Because it works best where a child already lives their life, early intervention comes to you: the living room floor, the kitchen table, the park, bath time. Your child learns where they feel safe, and you learn strategies to keep using between visits.
What to expect
You are matched with a therapist, or a team, who visits on a regular schedule, usually weekly. Much of the work is coaching parents and caregivers so the learning continues between sessions.
How to get started
Self-refer to AzEIP through the state, or ask your pediatrician for a referral. Services are then coordinated through Arizona Cooperative Therapies, where you can begin at azcooperativetherapies.org. If you would like an Arizona Speech Pathology therapist, just let the co-op know.
